Ingredients
- 4 Tbsp Porridge oats
- ⅓ Banana
- 2 Tbsp Berries Mixture of strawberries, blackberries, blueberries
- 200 ml Milk
Instructions
- Rinse the berries under the tap
- Add the porridge oats to the serving bowl
- Pour the milk over the porridge oats so it just covers them (use more milk if needed)
- Place the bowl in the microwave and cook on a low heat for 2 minutes
- Peel and slide banana then leave to one side
- Chop the berries and crush some with the back of the tablespoon
- Check the milk has evaporated in the porridge (if not, put back into the microwave and cook on 30 seconds intervals until soft)
- Take the porridge out of the microwave and add the banana and berries
Top Tips
- Add a drizzle of honey, agave syrup or maple syrup for extra sweetness
- Spice the porridge up with a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg
- Mash up the banana and mix into the porridge before adding to the microwave
- Use an alternative milk (dairy, almond, rice, soya)
- Instead of using berries, add any fruit around the house like grated apples, kiwis or grapes
- Add a small handful of nuts/seeds for an extra crunch
