A free, practical programme for primary school children in Year 5
Kidz in the Kitchen is designed to help children improve practical kitchen skills, as well as confidence with ingredients, via classroom and at-home learning.
At school
The classroom-based element of Kidz in the Kitchen consists of 6 practical cooking sessions over a 12-month period, with one session, each half term.
At home
At the end of each term, children will receive an activity box for at-home learning that includes
- a recipe card to try making at home
- ingredients to use (or a voucher to purchase them, where needed)
- information around a particular food topic (sugars, label reading, etc),
- fun activities to help educate children (and the family!) on healthy eating and diet
Spaces on the programme are limited to 10 children per school.
