Food Changers

Since lockdown in March, My Change have not delivered any lessons during school time. So, during some down time we have created a virtual programme for schools to deliver food education without the need for external people coming in. This programme is called Food Changers and the aim is so kids can explore different nutrients, start building their own balanced diet, and identify which foods to stay away from. Or at the very least, eat sparingly (we can’t be perfect can we!).

With this programme we have created a new site to give teachers’ access to all of the lesson plans and resources so they can deliver and pass on our foodie wisdom. We’ve designed six sessions for each year group (one to six) and the content gets more sophisticated as each year goes by. Each session lasts for one hour with the bulk of the time digging into the food theory. Then, as a final flourish you can add in one of our further learning activities, like a fun game or some food tasting.

Food Changers covers many aspects of the curriculum including Science, Health Education, PSHE and Design & Technology, and also contributes towards many school accreditations like Healthy School Rating Scheme and Food For Life. More details about each years’ programme is below and covers a wide range of topics on food, nutrition, diet and health.
